     The main concept of Shinawatra University Dormitory is to establish a “Living, Learning and Caring Center ” for students to enhance their quality of life, with excellent living facilities, surrounded by beautiful environment. All rooms are regularly cleaned with high standard and watched by security guards, to ensure safe and happy stay .


     We offer accommodation to every student studying at Pathum Thani Campus with two five-floor dormitories. The two dorms are located within 6-7 minutes walking distance from the principal areas, such as, lecture building, cafeteria, etc. Sports facilities can also be found nearby.   These include a fitness training room located within the Dorm 1 building, a football field which can be used also for track and field   events, a basketball ground, and a couple of tennis courts. Table tennis and other indoor sports are either held in the Dorm itself or in the newly built sports center. Laundry services and a hairdressing salon are open to student customers at a reasonable charge.


          Rooms in either dormitory are available at a reasonable rate, with 4 types to choose from. These are single, double, triple and quadruple rooms, which are of 36 and 42 sq. meters in area for standard rooms in Dorm 1 and Dorm 2 respectively. All rooms are air-conditioned and serviced, with computer network connections, telephone, refrigerator and hot water supply.
          Central facilities are also provided in each dormitory, for examples, a TV room with wireless network connection, study rooms, pantry and recreational areas including a karaoke room to make the students life comfortable and enjoyable one.


Dormitory Services

Some useful information:  

  1. A bedspread, blanket, pillowcase and sheets are provided in every room.   
  2. Maids will clean your room twice a week. However, please help by keeping your room clean and tidy all the time.
  3. The Dormitory management will be responsible for the laundry of the bedspread, blanket, pillowcase and sheets.
  4. One TV room with a pantry is situated on each floor. 
  5. Hot and cold drinking water is available on each floor.
  6. Toilet paper is supplied to each room.

Safety and security systems:

  1. Heat detectors and a wet-pipe sprinkler system protecting fire are installed in all rooms.
  2. Key card is needed to enter each floor.
  3. The entry and exit areas are watched constantly by security personnels , and close-circuited television system.  

Dormitory student counseling:

          Dormitory student counseling services are intended to assist students in adapting themselves to campus life, which would hopefully lead them to a success in their study and personal development. The services are operated by a number of senior teaching staff, who will alternately be available for students who have study or personal problems which may include adjustments, adaptation, personalize and bias. The services are available for a specific period and days at the Student Counseling room in Dorm 1. Please look at the announcement on the service details.

Organized functions :

Under the concept “ Living, Learning and Caring Center ”, the Dormitory places great importance to the happy, convenient and comfort for its residents. In this regard, the following functions and services are organized regularly or from time to time, when demand arises.

  • Cultural and international events
  • Sports activities e.g. Aerobics, Yoga classes etc
  • Sightseeing trips occasionally during weekends
  • Every weekend, transportation is provided at minimum costs to major shopping malls in Bangkok and vicinity.   The Chatuchak Sunday Market is also on the list. Advance booking is required to ensure a place.
Some Important Rules and Regulations

          For a large number of people living together, there normally be rules and regulations to avoid conflicts and preserve peace. In this context, residents are to observe the following rules and regulations.

1. 

Students are forbidden to possess, use or sell illegal drugs.  

2. 

Students are forbidden to drink alcohol or gamble on University property or while on excursions organized by the University . 

3. 

Students are required to be in their rooms before 11 p.m. weekdays, and 12 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. 

4.

Students are required to show their ID cards or write their names at the front gate security kiosk before going out and entering the campus.

5. 

Students are not allowed to smoke in any building.

6. 

If any student behavior is deemed detrimental to their personal safety, another student's safety, or the dormitory's personnels and properties, that student will be taken disciplinary action.

7. 

Bullying will not be tolerated under any circumstances, and the person who commits the act will be taken disciplinary action.

8. 

Students causing any damage or loss to property shall be liable to pay the cost of repair or replacement in whole or in part, as the case may be. 

9. 

Students must attend classes and related activities, fully and on time. 

10. 

Students must show consideration to their fellow inhabitants and the university community. 

11. 

Students must obey instructions given legitimately by lecturers and the dorm management.

12. 

Students who violate the rules and regulations will receive warnings: a verbal warning for the first commitment, a written warning (a copy of which will be sent to the parents) if commit for the second time, and a final warning for the third time. Students committing a serious break of rules and regulations shall be penalized accordingly.

Further Guidance        

          For your own and other people's convenience and safety, students must follow these guidelines:

1. 

Do not make any noise after 10:00 p.m.

2. 

Do not move to another room, or swap rooms with another student without the management's approval.

3. 

Do not disturb other residents. 

4. 

Do not leave valuables or cash lying around in your room. Lock them in your desk drawer. 

5. 

Do not act dangerously or cause damage to the dorm property. 

6. 

Help save energy and water. Please turn off the lights, air-conditioner and water taps when you leave your room. 

7. 

Carry your student ID card and keys all the times. 

8. 

Inform the dorm or university staff of any difficulties or feel that you are in danger. 

9. 

Male students must not enter the female students' quarters and vice versa. 

10. 

Pets are not allowed in the dormitory except in certain case. Seek   advice from the Dormitory management on this issue.
